Meet the #TeacherBlogger

Hey there! I spent my Monday in professional development learning about Differentiated and tiered instruction... sounds like a blast right? I learned so much and have so many ideas to share with you!....ok I'm lying but I did take some really great notes in the first half of the presentation :)

Today I am linking up with Stephanie at Falling into First for a Meet the #TeacherBlogger linky! What a great idea since this time of year some of us are meeting new teachers at our school, our students are anxious to meet their new teachers, and parents are restless thinking about meeting their child's teacher! It is the season for Meet the Teacher and this linky is an awesome way for a new blogger like myself to meet some new friends! SO let's get to it.

I am a third year teacher who taught Kindergarten my first two years and will be moving to second grade this year. I just got married this summer to my pre-school sweetheart and I love doing life with my best friend every day! I am passionate about my faith and love listening to a good worship song while I workout. I am originally from Louisiana but made my way to Texas for college and never left. I love the beach, pedicures, movies, and anything sweet! Now for the Q and A....

THESE ARE A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS...

The beach. Starbucks. LARGE sonic cokes. Candy. Target. Kendra Scott earrings. Magazines. Curling up with a good book on a rainy day. Mexican food. New workout clothes. The feeling of accomplishment. My new obsession with blogging and blog stalking. Pinterest. All things Fall.

IF YOU WEREN'T A TEACHER, WHAT WOULD YOU WANT TO BE?
My husband and I recently talked about how fun it would be to open a bakery. I would love the simplicity of just creating and selling yummy things to people. On the more realistic side, I would love to work in Curriculum development or as a Reading Specialist one day!
THREE LITTLE WORDS THAT DESCRIBE YOU.
Kind. Sensitive. Loyal.

FINISH THE SENTENCE, "________,  SAID NO TEACHER EVER!!"
Funny Workplace Ecard: 'I am so glad I can go home at 3:30 to relax'..... Said no teacher ever!

Q: IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY AND YOU CAN INVITE ANYONE {DEAD OR ALIVE} TO THE PARTY. WHO ARE YOU INVITING?
As long as my family and friends are there I'm happy!

Q: IF SOMEONE WROTE A BOOK ABOUT YOUR LIFE, WHAT WOULD BE THE TITLE?

A beautiful mess

Q:YOU GET TO PICK ONE SUPERPOWER. WHAT IS IT?

Flying!

Q: WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE QUOTE OR SAYING?

Chalkboard Print - She Turned Her Can'ts Into Cans Chalkboard Print
Q: IF YOU HAD TO SING ONE SONG ON AMERICAN IDOL, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
You are My Sunshine. I love the folky sound of it!

Q: ARE YOU A MORNING PERSON OR A NIGHT OWL?
Morning person definitely. During the school year I have trouble staying up past 9:30!

Q: WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE RESOURCE THAT YOU'VE CREATED IN YOUR TPT SHOP?

Well since I don't have my TPT shop up and running yet, my favorite product that I have created for myself so far would be my paperwork for Meet the Teacher night! I love that these sheets are practical, in color and black and white, and will keep me organized.

Q: SHARE SOMETHING WE MIGHT NOT KNOW ABOUT YOU!
I took piano for about 8 years growing up and also play a little guitar!

There you have it! If you would like to link up or see the rest of the bloggers who joined click the button below! Happy blog stalking!

  2. Love that quote! I also love in your bio talking about staying in love with our profession. I am going into my fourth year teaching - and it is hard to always look at the positive. I am loving the blogging world because it is filled with my glass half full people!!

    1. Jessica thanks so much! That is what I love about this blogging thing is the influence that it has to make you stay positive and encouraged about our profession rather than the opposite side that we get from work too often.

  3. Hi Alexis! I just wanted to say that I love that you say you're a teacher "determined to stay in love with my profession." Amen! :) I know so many teachers who are so tired of teaching, and it's not good for the kids at all!

    I love your quote, too!
